Just a hop, skip, and jump from my research in Augmented Reality Gaming, is this idea I called Geo-Cultural Annotation, until I did more research on it and found that it already had a few names. My vote is for capitalizing the 'A' in GeoAnnotation, because that emphasizes the users' role in production.
The exciting part about it is that it takes the idea of public comment via blogging, into locative media, further situating our bodies into the environments they exist in. It makes visible meanings and discourses of places that might otherwise remain invisible to their inhabitants. It's essentially a searchable guestbook and diary for a given location.
