FML Online: Your Unofficial Source of Flying Moose InfoThis link will bring you to the "official" FML site. Hi, I'm John Martin, and I've been working at Flying Moose Lodge most summers since 1993. What you've found here is an "unnofficial" FML site. It's a project I'm working on for a number of purposes. First, like many who have come before me, I love Flying Moose Lodge, and consider it my 'home for the summer.' Second, I've talked the Prices into letting me borrow from their vast collection of camp photographs and films, ranging back to the beginning days of FML in 1922. I've digitized quite a bit of it, and felt others might be interested in it, so I'm trying to make it available to anyone who googles that magic word: "Moosepox." Building on the previous two, the third reason is that I feel something interesting happens to boys at FML over the course of the summer, and since I'm studying experiential education for my PhD research, I thought I might be able to get some important data from it. So look around, enjoy the site, and reminisce about the good ol' days of summer. And if you've got a story of your own to tell of your experiences at FML -- good or bad, send me an email. I'm also interested in any stories, or essays (college entrance, "How I spent my summer vacation," etc.) that mention FML. I'll take written, typed, scanned, or spoken. And if you have any exceptional FML pictures, send them too, and I'll try to post them and credit you (include the year and people in it -- if you still remember their names). |
