My mother dutifully informed me the other day that I’ve not posted any updates here lately. She’d been wondering how my latest trip to New York was, and if I had any pictures.
I do. I uploaded them to Facebook. But she’s not on Facebook (and with dialup service, that’s probably a smart thing). But she’s still interested in seeing photos of her son’s — perhaps not all at full resolution. She can click the ones she wants more detail about, and wait (patiently) for it to load at 59kbps (the phone line isn’t too good either).
So, what to do? I’d considered reloading the pics to Picasweb, and putting in some sort of plugin to view Picasaweb pics like these from last summer:
But since I’d already uploaded to Facebook my pics of the Design Retreat at the Philip Johnson Glass House, did I want to reload them to Picasaweb? (No). So I found a plugin that lets me share some of my Facebook albums here, and in a cool, quick “Lightbox” format. Yay for Fotobook and Lightbox2 (and Picasa Image Express for the above pics). I’ve added a “Photos” page that displays both thumbnails (for quick loading and previewing) and full size images of those chosen.
Perhaps the next step will be to embed them into a post itself. Perhaps…
